Chalk Paint duck egg blue and custom cream paint

This is such a perfect dresser for the babies.  It has a divider in between each drawer, so one side for the girl and one side for the boy.  I used the same paint matched color of Annie Sloan's Duck Egg Blue color.  The cream color is a creation of my own as well as the brown on the top.

If anyone is interested in the color formulas just shoot me a comment and I can give you the numbers on the label.  Then you can take them to home depot and they will be able to recreate the colors.

Grey, white and black desk

I have done this design before but on a dresser and since I am a stressful pregnant ball I have been repeating some designs but on different pieces of furniture.  It's amazing how differently it looks on a desk instead of a dresser.   This is the dresser that I did in this design.

And here is the desk

French Script Stenciled Side Tables - Coco Chalk Paint

So I did this style on my own coffee table and did a side table to match, in grey and white.  They came out really beautifully, but since it is so hard for me to do the same thing twice I decided to try using brown and cream instead of grey and white.
The brown bottom is Coco Chalk paint and the top is a homemade chalk paint that I made up.  I made it once when I had only a little of the Old White Chalk paint left.  I added some white, some off white, and some natural linen...not chalk paint colors and I came up with this beautifully creamy white color that I love, because it doesn't have those tints of yellow in it like a lot of off white colors have.  If you like the color I have the measurement numbers that you can take to home depot and get a color match for it.
On the top of the....let's call it Cahley's Cream top :D I've always wanted to name my own paint color....I used the Cooc to stencil french script on top.  There is no trick to it, I just put the script on one line at a time and hope that I don't have some weird space at the end where there isn't enough room for another line.  Each piece I do like this comes out different, some better than others.
I waxed all the coco parts and for the top I used Matte Minwax clear coat.  I feel like anything that you do that is going to get a lot of use should have a clear coat on top so that it is easier to clean and keep clean.  And the Matte clear coat is great because it doesn't add a shine to it.  They have all shines though so if you decide you do want a shine there is satin, semi-gloss and gloss as well

There are two of these and they are available on my etsy site, or you can email me roguerosereproductions@gmail.com

Week 21 of twin pregnancy...distressed side tables

So I mentioned that my plan for as long as I am able is to complete at least one project a week. Last week was the baby changing table.  This week I did two distresed side tables.

They were first painted with an undercoat. I know that most people don't under coat when they are distressing a piece but I like the white showing through.

Then I painted them with paint from Behr called sage grey. It is a neutral light green color and very pretty. It comes out a much darker green color if uh distress it then stain it like this one.
Isn't it crazy how different the color looks with the stain over the top

All of these are available on Etsy.

Old Dresser turned Changing table

I haven't been working as much since being prego with twins drains me of all energy, but I am getting a little bit back in my groove again :)  I figured out if I can make at least 1-2 things a week I can get done 18-36 projects before the twins are born...but since I will be huge by 30 or so weeks I really only have 10 weeks so only 10-20 things to get done.  But I am doing good so far.  I have gotten done my daughters nightstand and dresser.  Two other nightstands, and the changing table.... and that was just in the past two weeks.  The biggest problem I seem to have is getting my husband or my dad to help me move something to an area where I can paint it or to take it to an area where I can get a good picture of it.  So right now I just have a picture of the changing table, which I think came out really good.  So here it is....

And here is what it looked like before...

It was a really old dresser with a little vanity thing on top.  I took the top part off, but I didn't fill the holes in case I wanted to put it back on after it stops being a changing table.

Here's another before and after.  This one sold to a couple that was expecting as well and I think they used it as a changing table too.

Custom Chalk Paint Duck Egg Blue

This is some of the furniture that I have in my room.  I painted it by getting a sample color of the way too expensive duck egg blue chalk paint and got a color match for it.  Then I used a homemade chalk paint recipe I got off pinterest.  I believe it goes

1 cup paint, 2 1/2 TBSP Plaster of Paris and 1 1/2 TBSP of water.
I've used a couple different recipes and I like it better when you mix the plaster and the water...hot water before pouring it into the paint.

Here is my dresser....the cream color is a makeshift color too, and I have no idea how I did that one...I did old white and regular white and cream and just mixed until I got what I wanted.  Then the brown on top was the same thing.  When I ran out I had to go with the entire nightstand to home depot to get a color match, because I didn't have anything smaller with the color on it.  :D  But if you like the color I do have the numbers to it now so you would just have to bring it to a home depot.

My pretty vanity that i ended up selling

The headboard also sold lol

The dresser before

The dresser after..by far one of my favorites

Custom Vanity for Alicia

This was a custom request that came from a guy who wanted to get something really great for his wife for Christmas.  Now I am 5 months pregnant with twins and not in any condition to be doing furniture too much and especially not on a time crunch, but since I have a great dad who knows his way around painting I was able to do it.  Plus I am a complete sucker for Christmas.  It is by far my favorite time of year.  I am the type to start get ready for Christmas in October and has the Christmas music on from Thanksgiving on.  My dad is the same way.  I decided that if he were a Christmas character he would be a Who from Whoville....people slow down on their way past our house because of the blown up santa in a helicopter or maybe it is the 7 foot tall christmas mickey...plus the new santa in a hot air balloon all on the roof lol.

Dad does the outside while I stick to the inside, but we both contribute to the mass amount of presents under the tree.  This is what it looked like under our tree and mind you this is only for me, my dad, my husband and our daughter Addison......just wait till the twins are born!!

Anyway onto the custom vanity...this is what it looked like before.

So he wanted it to look like a past project I did.  It was a dresser with red drawers with black and white stripes and a red crown on the top that read keep calm and carry on.
SO this one I...well my dad painted the drawers red and the rest black.  I felt that the pin stripes would be too much on such a small space.  So here is the final product.

That's my very own homemade stencil :) With her name.

There is a mirror that pops up from the inside.
